I know we have quite a few gamer-members on here, and I'm about to get a PS3, I wanted to know if there is a charge to get online with it, to play multi player games, ect. Is it like the x-box that requires you to subscribe to a service, or can you just plug in and go?

I think you will need an adapter - but there is a menu selection for older memory cards so you can use them.

I still play games from when I was a kid and having to keep up with 5 different consoles is just not my bag. Plus I've been through 3 PS2's and my latest one is showing the signs too. I was hoping this new console would still allow me to play my old titles and yet let my kids play the new stuff they want. Incidentally my old 1st year PS1 still works like a champ atop it's shrine of dead PS2's
