I know we have quite a few gamer-members on here, and I'm about to get a PS3, I wanted to know if there is a charge to get online with it, to play multi player games, ect. Is it like the x-box that requires you to subscribe to a service, or can you just plug in and go?
Also, the new GTA; is multi-player only available online? -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive. D-Man's post should be a sticky LOL, oh boy, you can always count on D-Man for ridiculously hilarious posts. |

As sony create firmware updates that you have to download to the HDD then alot of games then also need you to download this and that update to allow them to use the new firmware. This all takes up space on your HDD. e.g. i got 2.53 firmware update yesterday, then warhawk had a 66Mb update, and GTA4 had a 45Mb update.
You also have free demo downloads from the store, (Metal Gear Solid 4 Demo is like 1.5Gb, so it soon mounts up!) Also downloadable content, Call of Duty 4 had 4 new maps early in the year, which you buy from the store and then download and save to the HDD for use during the game. (These are now included in the Game of the Year edition) Things all mount up though, I've got a 60gb one and I always hover around having about 7Gb of free space on it. AFAIK the 60Gb is the ONLY one thats backwards compatible (Unless one of the firmware updates added it for the later models) TBH I've been looking at getting a 320 or 500Gb SATA drive (only £50-£90) to replace the 60Gb one with, then I won't have to worry about space. |
