so I need some input on which speakers to choose. I've narrowed it down to Alpine Type R components and Boston SX60's. I compared them the other day and the Bostons sounded better, but neither were amped, and i'll be amping them down the road. Anyone got some experience or advice? Thanks,

I preferred the type-r and sx 60's over the type-s.
I listen to pretty much every genre but handling guitar solo's and instrumentals is most important to me. So from research and listening in person: SX60: better clarity, screechy highs unless db set to -4, no bass, tops out at 65rms (great if I buy a subwoofer) type-r: range includes lows, tops out at 110rms, require lots of power (great w/o a subwoofer) Does this sound right? I know theres some audio buffs around here This post has been edited by 99Celica: Dec 13, 2008 - 1:04 PM |
