My new, old engine with 75k miles for $600 is not running it was running but then the fuel pump went out , a new found friend installed it but anyway he said the engine was running good but then he tried to start it ....it cranks.....and cranks... no spark i did the old screw the coil with a screw driver 2 check fo spark but there is no spark ...... he had to go do some stuff.... i think i read someone say maybe the condenser in the distributor could cause a lack of spark or the cap or the top... anyone got any ideas?

I dont think the speed sensor runs into the dizy circuit, although it does tie into the alternator circuit. Although looking at a wiring diagram dosent help, would need actual schematics too see exactly where stuff ties into. But after looking at the wiring diagram it could be alot of things. There are alot of fuses inline with the wiring, I would def go through every related fuse (or all of them just to be sure they all function.) and check them, dont go by what it looks like either. A blown fuse can also look good if you just glance at it, test each one for continunity.
