 Tire Size on 17 inch rims |

I was wondering what the largest tire I could fit on my 17 inch rims would be(stock suspension). I don't really want to lower it because of the snow but wanted to get rid of the gap i have with the low profile tires.

17x8 can accommodate 245/40/17s
If you have a 17x7 (most common) Go with a 225/50 |

I am thinking about a a 235/45 on a 17x8 wheel w/ 35mm offset, riding on stock suspension. Does anyone know if this setup would create any tire rub? Does anyone have pics who owns this setup, or pics of a 225/45 on a 17x8 wheel? Thanks...

YES! i have had that set up on three celicas now all with different suspension. here is the tire info: rims-TSW Kyalami 17-8 (35c) Rims tires-Kuhmo Ecsta ASX 225/45/17 Tires red coupe=STOCK SUSPENSION = little to no rubbing.. would rub against the fender lightly when i hit a deep hole etc.   black hatch=Tien springs and KYB GR2 struts (Rubbed so much i needed to roll the inside lip of the fender)   black coupe=Current set-up= stock struts and TRD springs (rubs every now and then but not bad enough for me to roll the fenders anytime soon, just lightly touches the inside lip of the fender against the side wall on big bumps)   And these are of the black hatch with stock suspension and the next is after it was dropped (again Tien springs and KYB GR2's)   |
