Tranny Problems, Killing the Car at idle Options

I posted in OT, because this is relating to my Altima, But the people on the Nissan forums aren't helping me at all. We've got several super-geniuses here that may be able to point me in the right direction.

Okay, this issue is that (automatic tranny) When in park or neutral, everything is fine, But if I’m sitting at a dead stop in Drive, then the car starts shaking, badly (as if it weren’t getting fuel), the RPM drops below the norm, and sometimes will even die. But if I come to that same stop, and slip it into neutral, then it’ll idle just fine. (witch is how i've instructed the misses to drive it right now)

Also it isn’t shifting right. Normally it’ll shift at about 2500RPM, but here lately, it’ll goto almost 3500 RPM before shifting, and makes this HORRIBLE ear poping noise before it does. Like a jet engine going into a high altitude makes your ears pop, Same feeling, Less intense.




I know I’m not about to find a KA24DE instruction manuel here, But could someone just point me in the right general direction on this one? I’ll figure out the application myself, I just need to understand the concept behind whats happening. Thanks ya’ll.
