k ive been away for a while looking at the 240 forums.
in here i never heard of illegal engines...or even yet how bad CA enforcement is on mods. Reading 240sx forums, ive gained an insight on how much of a pain in the ass it is to have a nice tuned car without getting it impounded or reffed. anyways back to the point, test drove a s14 sr20det today and wow it was pure balls...300 RWHP the car looks stock/black coated exhaust/no tint/ as long as i drive normal, and keep my foot on clutch and coast in neutral around cops, wont i be fine and not have any probable cause for them to pop my hood? asking 6gc for an unbias view on running illegal engines under the hood in socal 2 points:it will be my daily driver 20 mile commute and ill be driving slow in the slow lane. http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/231327-ca-s1...-11-000obo.html |

The 240 is a very popular car to get pulled over in SoCal. Reason being is that because it's so popular there that cops already know what is illegal when they look under the hood. 240 is a great car, but a 300hp daily driver car that you claim you're never going to speed or drive fast in is a complete waste of a car. I'm not saying that you should speed, but you made it a point to say "you'll be driving slow in the slow lane". I do know that you were just saying that to make yourself seem more responsible, but to be honest, we all know you are going to speed or doing something that will get you pulled over and that's what this thread is all about. The question shouldn't be if they will pop your hood or not, the question should be what you're going to do when they pop your hood. I'm actually assuming that you've already sped in the car, since you say that you've test drove it, and say that it's "pure balls".

You know why? Because idiots don't have the self control it takes to keep that $#!T off the streets and put others in danger. That's why. They do burn outs in a busy parking lot full of people wanting to order fast food. That is who ruined it for you. Try to correct that and start a crew that is KNOWN to encourage to take it off the streets and into the track. Have mutual funds for parts/group buys, etc... And when someone is caught street racing and the likes, drop them without no funds returned to them and such. That is the least I think one can do, at least it is something. That is what I am trying to start with "Track Star (Racing)". To try my best to correct this stuff. So far not a soul disagrees, I mean it is something ya know? Anyways, good luck in whatever you decide to do. Although knowing this from experience, I don't think you will manage to have the responsibility for such power until you started from rock bottom and slowly built your way up, rather than just purchase a fast car. It is that kind of patience that puts man and car together as one, and knowing that if you lose that car you lose a part of yourself. If that car hurts someone, it is like it is done by your hands. When the car isn't well, it makes your sick. And so on. Then as you age, maturity will settle in and you will have a more appreciation for life, as well as the laws of the road. Then you will see that real skill it put on a track, and the streets is just a matter of luck until it has ran out with the ultimate price paid for. You will begin to realize that showing off for other men becomes senseless, and the only time you realize getting noticed with worth something is when the rewards will coexist with your goals within your passion, and not just trying to glorify yourself for just a short moment. Those people on the street do not care about you, your safety, or your parts that you wear out from showing off. So why put on a show for them? Once you have came to understand all this and put in work, only then will you be ready. At least I believe so. /thread This post has been edited by Random_Stranger: Jan 6, 2009 - 12:32 AM -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204
