Im planing to do a 3SGTE swap into my 98 Celica GT and i just wanna get something straight.
The 3SGTE is all wheel drive so do i have to get the rear diff. drive shaft and all that and covert my car to all wheel or is it possible to just drop the 3SGTE engines and use some toyota tranny and leave it front wheel drive? I read on some site that the GT-S tranny works with the 3SGTE engine is that true? |

No sense in spreading miss information on this site.
The 3sgte swap is VERY WELL covered here. Just use the search function, and look in the stickies. You DO NOT need the GT4 hood and bumper to do a GEN3 ST205 swap. The hood closes fine with the Stock top mount water to air Intercooler, and we know this because there are several members currently doing so. The bumper has nothing to do with the factory front heat exchanger that comes with the ST205 swap, so the stock USDM bumper does not need to be changed either. I too am currently running a GEN3 3sgte with an MR2 LSD transmission. I am using a Act clutch for an MR2. You CAN use your a factory GT tranny (S54). As mentioned above, you need to use a "hybrid" clutch. --------------------
