Ok, if my '94 celica ST is FWD Manual (does auto or manual mean anything to choosing an engine, anyway?), and I want to keep it FWD (i don't have the money or tools to convert it to RWD like i so would love to), am I limited in my options for a new engine? The 7afe in my baby is shot to hell, and I want to experiment. At first I wanted to put a 3sgte in it, but I don't know if that engine is meant for RWD cars only, or you can put it into a FWD?

Then I was thinking about finding the V6 engine out of a wrecked (not too badly) '04-'06 Camry (I forgot the engine name). I doubt I'd be able to find a 4agze, so I want something big and powerful but slightly new so i have decent fuel economy. Would most engines (besides the engines on the Sticky 'engines that WILL NOT fit into a celica') pretty much fit into the celica's engine bay (with the little adjustments of motormounts and whatnot)?

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do? Or what cars I could inspect in my local junkyards? I know I want to stay within the Toyota family. If I got a different engine, would my celicas computer be compatible with the new one?

Yes you CAN put a 3SGTE in your st, but as previously stated, you will need a different transmission. You can use the S54 (found in manual GT's) or you can use an E153 (my personal choice, and found in turbo MR2's and a variety of different cars) You can use these Transmission codes in your search to help you on your way. My car is an ST also.....So yes, it is VERY possible wink.gif
