im trying to remove the driver side drive axle from the transmission and it wont budge. its a 95 st, 7a-fe 1.8L. i already removed the axle from the hub but cant get it out of the transmission. it will move a little bit in and out of the transmission but nowhere close to coming out. is it bolted down somewhere? or is there a clamp thats holding it in or should i just try and pry it out. im afraid of breaking something if its still being held in by something.

you will need a press to swap the axle carriers.. before that you'll need a relatively large pair of snap ring pliers to get the snap ring off from the carrier bearing.. or if you have a set of small picks and a small flat screwdriver you can do it without snap right pliers, but that will take some skill
