hey y'all,

really need some solid advice here. what can i expect to pay for a 3sgte swap. i have a line on an engine/tranny for a really good price. i've checked-out the shop where the work was done and they seem to have a solid reputation. 45 years in the business and no complaints to the BBB. shop looked tidy and the techs were mature, experienced-looking and friendly. did not specifically mention the engine or what i was looking for, just a general "how's it going, i'm looking for a shop for some work on a car" conversation with the guy behind the desk.

the question here is:

how much can i expect a swap to cost excluding the price of the engine/tranny?
wiring, turbo, wastegate, tuning, dyno tests, piping, intercoolers, how much does that all cost before i can put the car back on the road?

here is the link to the ad: http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-p...QAdIdZ106638175

thanks

r.

lagos, jim and manny...THANK YOU!!!!!

"knowing" you three like i do from hanging around here i could not have asked for better advice from anyone. the swap project is officially scrapped. i'm about 5-6 years away from 1st retirement and really can't justify spending $7500+ on a 10y.o. platform. oh well, it was a nice dream while it lasted. thought i could get away a little cheaper, with less headaches. you "swappers" are a breed apart and i have nothing but respect for you and envy for the end products, your cars are cherry!!

thanks again for not letting an old fool make a costly (not just financial mistake). i will probably just fix the rust and make it pretty. here's to hopefully another 5 years enjoying the Ol' CeliPig.

raymond.
