so what are the differences between the models/codes st202/st204/st205? at200 is the st200 chassis with a 7A-FE front wheel drive power plant. Other than the power plant, it is the same chassis as the st200 but was only used for the Celica st200 chassis was used only on the Carina ED. It could take a 3S-GE 4WD power plant or a 3S-FE or 4S-FE power plant with front wheel drive st201 chassis was a slightly modified version of the st200 chassis for the Corona EXIV. This chassis was also used for the Carina ED in later years st202 is the main chassis for the Celica. It is a slightly modified st201 chassis to accept a 3S-GE without 4WD. Later years of the Carina ED and Corona EXIV adopted this chassis and thus were available with front wheel drive 3S-GE power plant. The Curren also used this chassis. st202c is the st202 converted to a convertible by ATC of America st203 is a slightly different chassis to accomodate the 4 wheel steering this model has. Also used by the 4WS model of the Carina ED. st204 is a slightly different chassis to accomodate the 5S-FE engine and transmission components. Only America (GT), Canada (GT-S) and Australia (SX and ZR) got Celica's using this chassis. st205 is a slightly different chassis with a larger transmission tunnel to accomodate the 4 wheel drive this model has. Carina ED was also available with this chassis and 4WD. st205 was the last Celica chassis before the 7th Gen, but not the last T20 chassis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_T2xx at200 is the st200 chassis with a 7A-FE front wheel drive power plant. Plus, a non-turbo 4WD has a certain appeal from an insurance viewpoint. This post has been edited by BloodyStupidDavey: Jul 8, 2008 - 2:27 AM -------------------- Davey

Sorry I know this isn't to do with 6GC but I have a '96 Carina ED ST-200 and wanted to try and change out the FWD 4S-FE engine for the 4WD ST205 3S-GTE (gen 3) from a Celica GT4, as the Carina ED was intended to be a 4-door Celica. Obviously such a conversion wouldn't be cheap as the EDs never had the 3S-GTE, the most they had was the 3S-GE and 3S-FE. Do you know how such a conversion would be possible as I'm only really starting to get familiar with these cars? The most I've done with this car is replace the right rear door, stripping all the parts out of the old door and fitting them into the replacement one. I haven't exactly done much else. Once again sorry for being somewhat off-topic but this is the most I've been able to find on the differences in sub-models. Google hasn't been so useful so far, or maybe I'm searching wrong.
