I've decided that I need an alarm on my car since I'm dropping my full coverage insurance (just wasn't worth it). I live in Dallas, so car theft is an issue, but its not horrible. I need something thats secure and convenient and not chirping at me every time a bird ****s on my car. I think I also want a 2-way key fob thiny and remote start.

You installed yours right Coomer? Care to give more details? How hard was it? How did you go about hiding things? Etc. (I'm not goin to steal your car, so give up the secrets!!! wink.gif

I did in fact install mine myself, and it really wasn't that hard. smile.gif

I tapped into the ignition wires right near the ignition harness, tapped into a few wires in the kick panel, tapped into one wire at the ECU, and tapped into a couple wires in other places. As far as hiding the alarm brain, it's hidden right in the center of my dash, directly above the two center vents. Wires are all organized, labeled, and zip tied to be secure, and nearly all connections were soldered. I used SPDT relays to tap into a few circuits such as the dome light for illuminated entry, the output for the sirens, and some other circuits.

To trick the car into thinking that the car is always in neutral, I simply pulled out a harness, and ran a piece of wire in between the two terminals. I'd take a picture, but I don't have the car near me. Also, this harness was very close to directly above the clutch pedal.

I'd post up my old install diagram, but it's old and is no longer correct. If you need any additional information, just hit me up on this post, on AIM, or by PM.

Also, be sure to take all the necessary precautions when installing your alarm. Don't use a test light, and use a multimeter to test wires so that you don't damage anything. Don't test or mess with any wires surrounded by yellow wire loom or yellow tape, as those are most likely air bag wires. Hope this helps. smile.gif
