 JDM Power Folding Mirrors, A little confused |

So I didn't know if this would be exterior styling or interior wiring, so i put it here.
I don't quite understand the relay part of the whole set up. From what i understand after reading the 12 page how to you can wire them with out the relay. If you can wire them without the relay why is there such a big fuss over getting the relays? And why do i need one if i can wire it without it? I just got my set of power folding mirrors with the switches and plugs and will probablyy start working on getting them set up this weekend hopefully just looking for a bit more understanding. if you use your usdm housings, the driverside housing will be sticking out while the passengerside will be more flush with the car. it'll look terrible. just keep the jdm housings.
