I just received a bunch of parts from 1sttoyotaparts.com and one of them was a Toyota oil filter. After some research online, it turns out that these are actually quite well made so I thought I would give it a try. When it arrived, I noticed that it had a dent in the top.
Here are a couple links to pictures of the filter: ![]() ![]() ![]() Now from what I have read online, it seems that people are 50/50 on whether it is safe to use a dented filter. What do you guys think? Will that dent cause any performance issues with the filter? From what I know, the bypass valve is on that end of the filter, but is that dent in a place where it would affect the function of the valve? -------------------- ![]() |

meh, it seems pretty minor. As long as there's no puncture in it, I would still use it on my car if it were me.
