Hi guyz, I have a 1995 3sgte mr2 REV 3 engine and there is a code at the ECU (code 23: MAT/Manifold air temperature), the car run VERY RICH, won<t start anymore

The problem is that when the MAT isnt connected: I have the code 23. And when i connect it, the diagnostic mode dont work, the check engine light stays on whatever I do

I tested the voltage out of the computer and when its not connected its 5V. The resistance on the MAT is 3.5kohm at 48degresF outside as the toyota shop manual says it.
When i connect it the voltage drop to 2.8V.

What would cause the ECU to freeze diagnostic mode when the sensor is plugged?
