 idle problems, My car is idling very oddly |

Whenever I turn my car on the rpm's are at 2 and they'll stay there, if I brake hard they may start going up and down between one and two thousand. Any ideas anybody?

take your intake tube off and start your car, and look at your throttle plate at idle, it should be almost closed, if its open then something is binding, try that first.
