I have an ST. My engine blew. Considering putting in a 3sge instead. I found a 3sge w/auto tranny and was wondering if there's any difference since my car's a manual.
Also I've been reading around and some people say it's a drop in swap and you don't need anything but the motor since it bolts up to the tranny. Then some say use the tranny from the 3sge because the ST tranny can't handle it. Then if you do that, some other things have to be done.... So... what's the minimum necessary to swap while being safe? And would I need the wiring harness etc from the 3sge? Thanks |

for a 3rd gen 3sge the cams are different between the auto and manual. ^ thats true, I came across that, this afternoon while looking for the standard size camshaft for other reasons... so... which set of cams is better, the ones for the auto or the manual? i never switched them when i did my auto to manual swap. oh, and you'll need an s54 transmission if you get a 3rd gen 3sge ![]() -------------------- ~Andy
