on mr2oc.com the 3071 peaks at 5k rpm (ats kit)... im just wondering and i know this is stating it very simple; would a 5sfe hit peak boost earlier 4800 with same mods due to +.2 OR later due to FE head?
i just need a rule of thumb to determine 5sfe compared to 3sgte... eg. spool times; lower / later rpms? cheers, cal This post has been edited by NGHTKD: May 28, 2009 - 9:50 AM |

Thanks heaps for your reply Manny!
Im going to be running a T2 flange turbo/with 5bolt t28 outlet. The GT3071 that has a T25/T28 flange has been bagged on mr2oc due to the T2 size and not being a true GT30 turbo. Plus its a bit overkill in hindsight for my intended goals. Theres just something about the GT2860RS... from watching Bruce H's car on the track I cant get it out of my mind. So yes i understand, it will have a boost creep issues, but I will most likely weld the wastegate shut and run a Tial 38MM. The thought of it on a 2.2ltr, torque!!! The GT2871R is also off the list, as I've been looking over dyno graphs and they dont seem really that much better than a GT28RS. The GT28RS will make the power I want alot more responsively. Also the 2871R has got mixed reviews as some say its a mismatched turbo. Sorry I sound a bit dumb when it comes to talking about turbo's but ive been looking on mr2oc.com, nissansilvia.com, turbobygarret, berk etc.... for dyno graphs and its doing my head in lol. A ****load more research to go but thanks again! Cal. This post has been edited by NGHTKD: May 29, 2009 - 9:52 AM |
