So i bought a set of aftermarket rims and they aren't 100% true (round) so at low speed u get a small bit of wheel hop which is hardly noticable what so ever unless u have your foot off the gas doing 50km down a hill. but going access of 100kph the wheel starts to shake a small bit (going faster reduces it 120-140) and going even faster brings it back 150-180. now its not a oh **** this is scary vibration its more of the kind of vibration your grandfather would have on his back cushion on the low setting.

Basically what im saying is, will this damage my suspension, should i get these rims off and put my old ones back on. buying things of craigslist aren't always a good idea frown.gif

To be honest that sounds like the bearings are already going. I had a another vehicle do that..won't say what type, but exactly like a corolla, it would only shake or make noise at about 40-50 mph, then go away. Turned out to be the bearing in the wheel hub, i ran it so long that when i finally fixed it, the wheel would lock up, and when taken off black pieces of metal feel out. I would check that out..quickly....with so many rpm's many things can happen to many parts.

Not the bearings, as stated earlier its ACTUALY THE RIM THATS NOT 100% ROUND not my suspension!!!!!!!!!!!!

Figure this -> as you increase in speed that small amount of unevenness will go away from the fact that the wheel is rotating quicker to the point where force is applied to the tire it self pushing outwards and actualy evening out that play in the rubber making the rubber 100% true altho the rim is out, But saying that if u go to fast the problem reoccurs because too much outward force is being placed and putting the wheel out even more.

You say soo many RPM's -> An engine can rev 7000RPM at 245MPH but the tire is only spinning at 1107RPM Daily driving at 45MPH that is only 220rpm

You can delete/clost this topic, i took a 30ton micropress to my rim, its 100% true biggrin.gif
