Ok so heres the deal. i have a dog, hes a pitbull/chow-chow mix. when im home or when anyone is around hes an amazingly good dog. its when i leave...terror! he is about the most destructive dog i have ever seen. he tears up anything left on the table, knocks the chairs and stools over, even tears up the carpet! im at my wits end with him, hes 2 years old and i thought he would be through this by now. anyone know what i can do?

Well said Sabrina.
I have a 8 year old Rotti,Shepard,Doberman mix. If you leave him home alone for too long, or if he's mad at you he will eat anything. He ate my parents coffee table. We crate trained him when we first got him and it was the best thing we ever did. He loves his crate. My sister's dog (rotti pitbull mix) is staying with us temporarily and it makes my dog crazy. He actually puts himself in his crate to be alone. You cannot use the crate as a punishment though. The purpose is to give the dog his own space. You'll see that pretty soon your dog will be hanging out in his crate on his own! ![]() As far as a "friend" is concerned... its not a solution. My dog used to play nice with other dogs... now that my sisters dog is living here he's become aggressive. Dogs are pack animals, so when you have two dominate dogs (like in my situation) they will not only act differently to other dogs but to you. Its like an attention thing. my dog used to have all the attention, now he has to share it with my sisters dog. He's totally not cool with that.
