Prodigy515 picked up this 3" electric cutout and this past weekend I put together a downpipe for him and welded the cutout in. The upper part didn't quite come out how I wanted but I've got some ideas to make the next one better. Making the transition from an irregularly shaped oval to a 3" round pipe wasn't so easy

you should have gore cut several sections of pipe together to make that trasition smoother, the way it is is horrible for flow.
props for making a downpipe tho! -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Yeah not real happy about how that came out. What makes it difficult (that you can't see in the pic) is that the pieces in that bend are going from a 4" irregular oval shape to a 3" round pipe (if you look closely at the pipe closest to the turbo you can see it's ovaled out) so making a smooth transition while doing that was a pain. Interestingly though when you look INTO the downpipe through the flange it looks much more smooth of a a bend than from the outside. -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |
