my project is to build a dune buggy from my spare 5s......
so can the 5s be coverted to carborator?...plan to use the 5s tranny too unless theres another way of doing it....any ideas......useing the tranny shafts i dont plan for the wheels to be on them they will be the inner shafts only (modified) but with chain links and sprokets runing back to the acual wheel axels......reason i ask bout if i can be converted to a carb is so i dont need ecu and alt.....its so i can just run it as is......if it has to be fuel injected...i guess it just have to have the alt and ecu and all* its harness acceseroies........unless useing efi.....but i need to learn more bout efi...i herd thats what they use on these type of projects.....i guess itll be more of a 4banger baha then anything else....radiator will be mounted on the back with air dams to direct the air to the radiator...modifing the exhast is easy.......will have clutch....shifter ......tach gauge.....and...temp gauge.......will be raised a little higher then most dune buggys.........this is a COMPLETE custome build job so framing size crew sitting suspention all of it will be of no limit......how ever the width must be not be more then my trailer...for hualing purposes
...it look something like this

you can carb it a few ways, simplest to setup would be to make an intake with 4 stubs for 4 seperate carbs and rig it up like ITB with a pod filter on each. you'll by pass having to custom make a manifold that gets the right amount of air/fuel to each cylinder at the right time.

but uh without an alt and ecu how is the ignition going to work?
