well i got my gt srtut brace in a few days ago, and i finally got a chance to install it today. the only problem is that it wont fit. am i doing something wrong? i thought you just take off the bolts from the strut, then place the brace over it, then put the bolts back on and put some bolts to connect it to the firewall. when i tried installing it, it was only able to fit to one of the struts. it seems like the brace is to long or something. because when i try to install the brace to the other strut there isnt enough slack because the bar keeps on hitting the firewall. any help would be appretiated. thanx u guys.

It should fit without a problem. The only reason it wouldn't fit is if the strut tower has shifted.
When I installed my 3 point bar from Jspeed I had a hell of a time making it fit. Upon further inspection I noticed that the weld on the drivers side strut tower was cracking(too much high G cornering/rallycross). After forcing it to fit I took it to a friend with a welder and had him reweld it(even though it is still a hair off, it is now structurally sound). Any time you are in an accident it puts a strain on the whole car. Just because you didn't get hit in the front, doesn't mean it didn't bend something connected to the strut tower. |
