You know I knew nothing about celicas before I got mine with a blown 5s by accident. i did not even know there was couipes and hatches. I thought they was all the same. Well I see now there some differences. Coupes dont seem to have alot of exterior mods available like hatches. Mainly the ones I like. I did like the hatch more but my coupe has grown on me. I was wondering if there are more hatch 3sgte cars than coupes. And If more hatches was made than coupes. are coupe heavier? Celicas are known for great handleing do hatches handle better than coupes? This thread is just comparing the 2. Whats your opinions?

I have had both, and I think they both have their positives and negatives.
Coupes have a more solid rear end from the factory, where a hatchback REALLY needs a 3pt rear strut bar. Hatchbacks flow better, and follow the GT-four line, where the coupes are a Toyota Curren with the celica front end. All of the space in the hatchback for storage! Where the coupe's rear tray gets in the way of everything. Hatchbacks, I'm sure, are heavier than the coupes. In the end I feel it is really up to personal preference. I personally like the spoilerless hatchback look. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

I personally like the spoilerless hatchback look. I know hatchbacks are typically lighter than coupes, but I'm not too sure about the Celica. But my vote goes to the hatch, just for the lines it has. The roofline from the side profile looks great, and I just like it a lot better than the Celica coupe. Currens aren't really part of this, as it's a different front end entirely. The hatch is where it's at. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates.
