So I have been trying for the past ooooh 4 months at this point to find the shimless buckets I need for my 3rd GEN 3SGTE. I ordered a bucket from a 1ZZ to insure a good fit and that the range of shims would work for my machined head.

the bucket didn't fit... far to small - its completely different size then my existing buckets. I poked around today - visited my Toy dealer, and this board, and the 1ZZ motor has buckets and the 2ZZ has shims so I didn't order the wrong bucket.

so I have two conclusions - they ordered the wrong Bucket (possible) OR the bucket size from the 2nd gen 3SGTE is different then the 3rd GEN 3SGTE. I don't know why it hadn't come to me before... I do have a old 2nd gen 3SGTE kicking around so I will unpack it and have a peek.

Film at 11.

Cheers

It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.

So I am questionining the ability of using 1ZZ Buckets on my 3rd gen 3SGTE.

After measuring up all the values it shows that my range of new shims required is 2.94 - 3.20, all of which fall under spec of acceptable values.. However, according to the 1ZZ book

"Lifter are available in 35 sizes in increments of 0.020 mm
(0.0008 in.), from 5.060 mm (0.1992 in.) to 5.740 mm
(0.2260 in.)."

the thickness of the bucket - sans shim - is approx 3 mm. so taking that into account, the 1ZZ motor does not offer any shim sizes that will work for my motor....
