I am going to produce a limited edition fiberglass side skirt for the 6th gen Celica.
It will be based off of the veilside/vis invader side skirt, but will have a air intake molded into the rear of it that will have the option of forcing air into the rear wheel well, thus cooling the rear brakes by cirrculating more air in the wheel well. The side skirts will come a with mesh grill insert that can be changed to match any other grills you may have. There will be a few other minor changes added. These side skirts will be molded for a perfect fit... unlike the vis side skirt that need alot of modifications to fit correctly Info: Estimated cost: $350-400 for the set. 5 layer molded fiberglass. Preped and primered. Molded mounting brakets for mesh grill. Mesh grill is included. Tubing for funcional side skirts only. Diagrams for cutting to fit tubing. Hardware for mounting. Approx weight: 5lbs each Prototype designs will be availble soon. These side skirts will be a limited edition only, I am planning on making ten sets and possibly more depending on demand. I will NOT ship two sets within 300 mile of each other... That way they will be as close to one of a kind as possible. This way you won't drive down the street and see another Celica with these sideskirts. I am also planning on developing a front and rear air dam for the 6th gen. I want to see how well the side skirts go over before I produce the front and rear. I would like to have at least 10 sets preordered before I start to produce them. I do not need the cash up front. Money will be collected prior to shipping. If you have questions or comments regarding this you can contact me via email. okay here is the deal, I drove up to my car today... long drive... newayz the measure ments are almost exact with the 5th gen being just slightly bigger than the 6th gen so the skirts will match up but there is a problem with them... the side of the 5th gen is almost completly flat and the 6th gen isnt... it indents inward.. that means there will be a gap between the side of the 6th gen and the 5th gen sideskirts... and it will be kinda big and would look like ****. Newayz I plan on buyin a set and making the nessacary mods to it to make if fit perfectly on the side of a 6th gen. And then this is what I will sell to you guys. I will also include the piping and the cover piece for the hole that will have to be cut to make them functional.
I will probably buy the sideskirts in 2 or 3 weeks and see how hard this will be to do but I think doing this way will turn out better than the way I was doing it before. I will let you guys know how well this Idea will work as soon as I get my set. Thanks OCU_Celi check out Here -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
