Can anyone tell me, is there a difference between EGR valves over the years for the 5S-FE?

X2 I am trying to get the maximum fuel mileage so if disconnecting it would lower the mileage I would not do it. However on many other cars especially old v8 muscle we disconnect the egr and don't notice anything changing however on these new computerized yotas I am not sure if it would affect mileage. Has anyone tested for this??? It would be nice to get rid of that code and not spend ridiculous amounts of money to fix it.......
