When I start the car up for the first time in the morning a big cloud of white smoke comes out sometimes. but after that it starts up with out any smoke at all. Anyone know this problem?

I had my head rebuilt a while back on a block with 180K on it. The block passed kind of with weird readings for both a wet and dry compression test at first. After everything was cleaned up it passed with awesome numbers and the mechs told me it was in very good condition depending on the readings. Anyway, after the head was done and back on, the blue smoke at start up totally gone. No smoke anymore whatsoever and I just went my first 3,000 miles after the rebuild and the oil is exactly where it was right after the oil change. Our blocks are awesome my car runs mint. Valve seal job is pretty inexpensive and it's nice not to have to keep up with the oil level.
I did also have a problem with the distributor o-ring seal leaking oil before the rebuild. Maybe check that too for the hell of it. Mech said it's common among celicas. This post has been edited by 6G96GT: Aug 9, 2009 - 9:32 PM |
