So I need a paint job because my car is looking like a rainbow. I heard Maaco offers $250 paint jobs. I went to a local car shop and to mix the paint it would be $215 for 2 quarts of paint and everything I need. My question is for the price/quality what would I be better of doing? I have access to paint tools and a buddy that can help me paint as well. I have no experience with Maaco or painting in general, so any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just went yesterday to get an estimate at miracle. $935.72 to get the dents in my left rear 1/4 panel fixed, the oxidation on my roof sanded smooth, and then painted. I would definately trust them with the work though. the cars they had in their parking lot all looked nice (except the "in progress" ones of course) and they had a ton of pictures of previous cars they had done. but the most important thing was I saw the ASE certificates on the wall. I'm seriously considering getting my car painted there, though I might try to smooth out the oxidation on my roof myself to save $100
