So I have a 95 celica gt 2.2l na and it has started backfiring pretty badly in lower rpms and especially under load. So I searched around and it seems that the dizzy coil is the problem. So my question is what exactly is involved in changing a coil? Is it as simple as pulling out the dizzy and just a couple a bolt to change it? I want to be sure i know what im up against when i do it since it is my currnt dd.
Thanks for any help Steven |

before you do anything, take a sharpie, make a nice defined mark from the head to the dizzy. then, remove the two 12mm bolts on the top and bottom of the dizzy. unplug the two connectors and remove the dizzy.once you get it out remove the three 8mm bolts holding the cap on. then remove the rotor and heatshield(carefully). remove the two nuts holding the wires in place on the positive and negative of the coil. and finalle remove the four phillips screws that hold the coil in place.the dissy only goes back in one way. pretty easy. i'd also remove the air filter box for a little extra room.
