one of my projects when I start the body work is remove the Radio antenna from the back of the car and cover the hole to make the line.

so I'm planning o get a window antenna or some hidden one, I found this one on Ebay Antenna

don't know if some have something like this or if this will work

all comments are welcome biggrin.gif

This isn't entirely the same situation.. But similar enough. When I bought my car, the guy who owned it before me broke everything and put a Wal-Mart power antenna that didn't work in the hole. It went up, but it never came back down. So in an effort to make my car look better, I took the antenna out and tried getting the mast to go down. Then, when it wouldn't, I got angry and remembered reading somewhere that you could cut the wire and splice a piece of speaker wire to the antenna wire then run the speaker wire wherever you wanted. I read wrong! You can't cut into a shielded wire like that, and it was a b**** to splice back together. I still need to run a completely new wire, but I'm in no hurry. Anyway, I could actually get some signal with the speaker wire. The problem was that the wire had to be outside the car and above the roof. I couldn't simply touch it to any of the metal panels and make it work, or stick it in a window like I was hoping I could. Anyway, I guess my point is to be careful with that antenna. Definitely do NOT cut your shielded antenna wire! That's a given though. I was just angry and not thinking. Play around with that antenna to see where it can get signal, especially with the doors closed. Then, report back to us and let us know how it worked!
