I am new to the whole Celica owners circle. I just baught a 96 Celica GT and I would like to turbo it and I was told that it was not a good idea at all. I dont know what the differances with all the motor codes... ex. 3sgte. and so on. How do I know what mine is? Any suggestions?

As a North American sixth-gen Celica, you've got a 5SFE in your car.
However, much of the information you're looking for is on the home page of this site, under the info articles. As for turboing this engine, despite it being an economy head (thus the F rather than G designation) it can produce some pretty impressive results. Search 5SFTE. Of course, there's a stickied thread at the top of this forum which might also be of interest. In fact, there's stickied threads at the top of every forum, including the forced induction forum. |
