I think my tranny seal may be leaking on the left side of the car?how do i change it?do i have to drop the tranny?

Well your transmission is located on the driver's side of your engine bay, so most any leak would appear on the driver's side. If it's one of the case seals and you don't have any experience disassembling a trans then you might want to let a pro do it. I believe there are at least a few of them you can do without dropping it out of the car.
If it's an axle seal then you must remove the axle assembly to replace it. Keep in mind that if the output bearing at the axle shaft is worn badly it wont do you any good to replace the seal, as it will probably still leak due to bearing play. It's slightly possible that the leak could be coming from your drain plug if you had the fluid changed recently. This plug is a large bolt head almost 1" in diameter on the side near the bottom of the trans.
