I agree with you, Faust, that Toyota does need some kind of sports car, but I also agree with njccmd that they have the sales they want with the Camry and the Corolla. When you are the head of Toyota, it's not about building the fastest car. It's about how you can pad your wallet a little bit more. I agree that Toyota does need a dedicated sports car out there, not something that you want to buy to haul the kids around in and look good doing it, but an actual, good sports car. The tC is a lame replacement for the Celica. I understand Toyota's goal behind it, trying to build something sporty but economical so kids can afford it, but that's where they went wrong- it's aimed at kids my age. How many 19 year olds are out buying the best sports cars? The tC seems too much like the Corolla to me. I think Toyota needs to come out with a car specifically designed to take on the Mustang. They have the tC to get their share of sales from potential Civic buyers, but they have nothing to take on the sports car market. If they came out with a sports coupe with a 6 cylinder, they could be taking sales from the Mustang. It's well known that Toyota's goal is reliability and economy, so I'm sure they could find a good balance between something quick and something to take out the Mustang. But then again, who are a bunch of guys from 6gc.net to tell the main guys at Toyota what to do?
