Ok
Problem: I have a 94 ST Coupe 5 Speed. 222735 miles Orig problem: Overheated, cylinders filled with coolant. Cause; Headgasket? Thermostat? Needs: Front end wobbling fixed, cleaned, head gasket, windshield, paint job, rear brakes, spoiler reattached, trunk lid fixed. How much would that cost? Benifits: None, have to get rid of it.. If I could keep it then it'd be easier to fix imo and cheaper, and it has a new clutch (5k miles ago) For more OLD info and pics: http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1368413976.html Here is Coupe pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() Now, I could trade it for a; 95 ST Hatchback 5 Speed 181k miles Problem: Spun bearing(but needs engine atm?) Needs: Engine installed, cleaned up a bit, ignition(where key goes), interior needs swept, paint job, and i'd do the clutch while I Was at it, and idk what else, maybe random rust fixed? Benifits of 95 ST: Still same isurence, dad likes celicas, its a hatch, sun roof, power windows + locks Thing is, to trade the other guy wants my car running, i HAVE to get rid of my car, my dad is demanding i get rid of it. I could replace the headgasket and trade him, then toss an engine in this car... But idk how much work that will be, because of the condition of the hatchback's engine bay. Here is pics of the hatch: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It seems as though someone just kinda unbolted whatever was attatched and left it there. I really dont like how the tranny is just sitting there, but it dont seem damaged at the moment. The engine originally spun a bearing. What would YOU do? Don't get the hatch, for a few reasons. One, you're just trading one problem for another. Two, it directly goes against what your father is telling you to do. That's the bottom line. Do what your father tells you. If he tells you to sell the car, then sell it. Otherwise, man up and approach your FATHER about trading the car you've got for the silver hatch - although I'm willing to be he'll tell you the same thing I'm telling you; you're just trading one problem for another.
Are you old enough to get a job? If you are, then get one. Start paying for your share of your auto insurance on your father's policy. That way YOU'RE the one paying insurance for a car that doesn't run (if you trade that guy) rather than your father. If you're old enough to have a car and drive it, you're old enough to get a job. Time to step up. And if your parents won't allow you to get a job, for whatever reason, then suck it up and do what you're told. You may not like it now, but trust me, it'll be a LOT better than going against what you've been told and sneaking around with this whole car thing. If you want to earn your father's trust and respect, you're going to have to show him the same trust in his judgment and respect for him as your father as you're hoping to earn. -------------------- ![]() |
