Hi, I am trying to piece this turbo celica back together and I have some questions. I am new to celicas and everything.
First is this sensor, I have a picture of it from my car but it's not the best, I will try to get a better pic of it. I just want to know what sensor that is(MAP?) and how to mount it onto the IC/intake pipes. ![]() In this picture it's the sensor right next the coupling between the intake and the BOV pipe. ![]() I also want to know how easy it is to weld a 1G DSM BOV onto the piping I am using. I bought the whole BOV with the stock piping, but the piping is way too small to work with. What are other ways to make this work? I can't seem to find the right coupling size to fit this to my IC piping. I have other problems with leaking oil, but I am in the process of getting the oil feed fitting by mail and waiting to install it. Thanks Batman for the hookup. I will probably be using this posting for any other questions or problems I run into later down the road of getting this car back to running good. BTW, this was owned by a past member from this site, which I recently found out. His name was Shin on the boards..just a little FYI..haha. Well I got the new turbo in..the old turbo was pretty much worthless, the nut in the middle was missing and the blades were all destroyed. Lots of shaft play and movement.
While installing the turbo I ran into a problem. I was trying to screw the T fitting in for the oil feed line with the stock oil pressure sensor on the fitting. While doing this, the sensor's wires snapped and looks very short, a little too short to solder and rewire. Anyone have any ideas? I will try to get pics, but it's that sensor that normally goes into the block. Anyone have an extra that they can sell me or just the wiring part of it? Also, I am still deciding what to do about the BOV. Would it be better to have the BOV cut from the stock piping it came with and then welded onto the 2.5" piping I'm using now? Because right now, I am setting it up by using reducer couplings, 2"-2.5" using the screw on metal straps that normally come with intakes. The BOV pipe is 1.75" and seems like it throw the flow off since it's going from a 2.5" to a 1.75" pipe. Please give me some ideas, I am just open to any ideas but also want to stay economical which is why I got the DSM BOV. I will get some pics up soon, not much to see.
