So after selling my 98 GT-S sometime in July...I decided to seek out my dream car! Here's a little story of my adventure to see a GT-Four, up front and in person, for the very first time...
Dragged two buddies along for the journey. We planned for the 12:30pm sailing at the horseshoe bay terminal in BC, to get to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Turns out the sailing was full and we waited 3 hours for the next sailing. After 1.5 hrs on the ferry we hauled a** 150km north of Nanaimo to Campbell River (keep in mind the last sailing home is 9pm). Finally arriving at the place we took a look at the car, took it for a spin and worked out the payment details. The pro: engine is still running strong even with meerly 103,000kms The cons: various surface rust here and there The solution: leave the car there, get all the surface rust sanded out and get a full paintjob (at my cost)... then ship it to me Now, I'm just waiting for it to arrive!....time for some teaser pics! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ![]() ![]() More pictures to come when it arrives! The wait is killing meee.... This post has been edited by nammer: Feb 20, 2011 - 11:27 PM -------------------- |

Does Canada use RON or MON ? I might be confused here but 91 is "regular unleaded" here, 95 is lower grade premium, 98 is premium and 100 is race fuel. In Japan they use 100 octane equiv to what we call race fuel, You may have to do the conversion into your own system, but yeah you can get away with using 95, It's just not as responsive as 98 but it will work fine. If your "91" is what we call 95 then forget what I've said. PS. Don't even think of saving money on fuel, Nomatter what you get, If you want any fun out of your car it'll all be drinken up just as fast lol. This IS a gas guzzler, not an economy oriented FE engined car ![]() I have no clue what Canada uses...but regular unleaded can range from 87-89...premium is 91..and supreme is 94 I believe.. i guess i will stick with supreme Are you dealing with terra2imports? I have been communicating with one of their people for last couple of weeks. I may be throwing a gt-4 over the fence sometime this upcoming spring if you know what I mean. No I dealt with Grant from www.tyeeimports.com His response time is pretty quick and he helped me out a lot with getting the car to the condition I wanted. I've heard it's hard to get it over the fence but good luck with it...hope to see you start a thread one day with "GT-Four" and "my new" in the same title ![]() dude I know how you feel about the wait. I bought mine (identical to yours except black) sight unseen 2 weeks ago. I finally take delivery on thursday....I haven't seen anything but pictures so far tomorrow!....only a few hours away....where did you get yours from? Once you get the car I would advise to drive it like you stole it. After all all that wait must not be in vain he he he hahah pretty sure i will drive it like i stole it...or more like drive like a retard while trying to get use to sitting on the wrong side haha -------------------- |

After all all that wait must not be in vain he he he hahah pretty sure i will drive it like i stole it...or more like drive like a retard while trying to get use to sitting on the wrong side haha Straight from wikipedia: "In most countries, including all of those of Europe, and Australia, the "headline" octane rating shown on the pump is the RON - but in the United States, Canada, and some other countries, the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON, called the Anti-Knock Index (AKI). It may also sometimes be called the Road Octane Number (RdON), Pump Octane Number (PON), or (R+M)/2. Because of the 8 to 10 point difference noted above, the octane rating shown in the United States is 4 to 5 points lower than the rating shown elsewhere in the world for the same fuel. See the table in the following section for a comparison." "regular" gasoline in US and Canada RON 91–92 MON 82–83 AKI 87 "EuroSuper" or "EuroPremium" RON 95 MON 85–86 AKI 90–91 "premium" gasoline in US and Canada RON 97-98 MON 88–89 AKI 93 I think you will be fine with 91 which is generally the highest most pumps sell.
