 Fuel light on? |

Hi guys I can't find how much fuel is left in the tank when the yellow fuel light comes on warning you to get gas. I am doing a test to see what my mileage is and how far I can go on one tank. So far I am at 380 miles on one tank, my fuel light came on at 375. This is only gonna put me in the 31-32 range not what I wanted as I am driving a special way to save fuel. (I was trying to beat my record of 32) I shift around 2500 rpm and downshift when coming to a stop. PLus I live in the country so I am able to drive at a more relaxed pace, I could not do this in a major city. I have a 94 2.2 liter celica 5 speed.
Anyone know about the fuel light and fuel left in the tank when it comes on? THanks..... |

Well I put 398 miles on one tank I think I could have put on a few miles more but I didn't want to run out. I put 23 miles on after the fuel light came on. It only works out to 28.8 mpg's. It was mostly highway miles around 61mph then some city driving. I was hoping to beat 32mpg's but no dice. Sort of depressed as I drove like a grandma the whole time. OH wellllll................
