Hey there,
I was reading my repair manual the other night while changing out my ball joint and tie rod and noticed that it said to be careful not to overextend the cv axle when seperating the steering knuckle. What does overextend really mean? what happens to the cv when its being overextended and what can that cause??? I still have a wierd shuddering clunk off of acceleration so maybe it might be due to my cv axle? -------------------- ![]() |

New question!!!
I jacked my car up today to hunt for that annoying shudder coming from my drivers side and noticed this: ![]() I read the repair manual and found a how-to axle replacement on here, but neither said anything about play on the inner cv joint. Is this normal?? keep in mind that the car was off the ground at this point. even so I dont think theres supposed to be this much play. especially with everyone complaining about the snap ring on the end of the splines This post has been edited by enderswift: Oct 25, 2009 - 11:41 PM -------------------- ![]() |
