the higher octane is meant for cars running turbo or in naturally aspirated high compression engines. the higher octane only helps prevent knock under high pressure. a 5sfe is designed to run with 87 octane. no need for 89 or 91 as these have relatively low compression. instead, the extra $$ you save every fill can be put towards something more useful like maintenance and repairs..
