hey all...drivers side c/v's are GONE....really bad clicking, now turning into crunching when turning,..and every once in a while i'm getting this really wierd sensation like the c/v's are slipping apart or somthing..the best way i can describe it is like this....remember the movie leathal weapon w/ mel gibson? well if so you know when he pops his shoulder in and out of place? well thats how my wheel feels for a second, then it goes away..its as if somthing in there is poping in & out of place...i know, sounds bad, right? well the wierd part is that it only does that when its cold for like the first 10 min of driving...then it dont come back till the car sits for more than a couple hrs..
ok so on to the ??'s.. is it hard to do the drivers side axel/halfshaft, whatever the hell it is that i need to replace? (i consider myself a beginner at car repair..i can follow directions well, but im not about to go do major surgury on my car by myself..hehe) any helpful hints or suggestions are welcome!! (if that means paying to have it done, thats ok...i'd rather pay someone than hurt it more, ya know?) will i need the BGB to get it done? thanks all! ![]() manny -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

You should be able to put a new axle in on that side yourself,it would help to have someone around for safety reasons. Get a manual from autozone or whatever and you'll be just fine with that. You will have to take your axle off then take it to the parts store to get the core charge, you don't "have" to take it there first, but it would be better. You need to set the old axle and the new axle next to each other while youre at the parts store, make sure that the new axle has measures up right and that ALL of the pieces you have on your old axle are on the new one as well, if there are pieces missing take them off of your old axle and put them on the new one. This is very important because the dust caps are very easy to overlook and the new axle will probably not come with these, they come off with a flathead screwdriver. If i remeber right the drivers side is the easiest side so you should be ok.
