I recently got my distributor replaced, and I know that there can't be any reason why that would make my speakers stop working, because they were playing when I drove away from the mechanic. I went home and turned the car off, and went to my room for a bit to put more songs on my mp3 player to play in my car. Went out to my car, turned it on, turned on my mp3 player, had it plugged it, no sound. I am sooooo ****ing pissed off, like the equalizer shows that it's playing, but there is absolutely no sound. I tried fooling with the wires in the back, I tried disconnecting the negative from the battery. It can't be the speakers, they're not even two years old. What else could be the problem?

Stock sound system like original speakers? Cuz I don't have the original speakers, I sorta upgraded with 4 cheap Blaupunkt speakers, 90W each, though the tweeters are original. Plus I mean I have an aftermarket CD player too, but it's old as ****. I did just order a new one online, hopefully I'll get that soon, so rather than screwin' with the stock amp, I'll just hook up the new player. But it bothers the hell outta me, when I can't listen to music when I'm driving.
I just checked the radio fuse from the inside and that was fine, though because I heard something screaming across the field at 4:45am, not sure if it was a cow, but it freaked me out, and now I'll just check under the hood when it starts to get light outside. haha As for the amp blowing, I don't know how it happened, there is a set volume that I use, and don't go any higher unless a song that is playing is quieter than others. And for the head unit itself, it does not have a mute button, well it does but it just lowers the volume. But I turned the volume all the way up, still nothing. .....Going back in time like 3 months ago, my rear left(drivers side) speaker stopped working, and it wasn't the speaker itself, cuz I hooked up the speaker to the right side, and it played just fine. What would cause that to go out? It's currently disconnected with electrical tape around the wires, cuz I cut the plug off, thinking it was the plug itself. |
