Like it says 87, 91 or more? whats better for performance or gas milage?

since we're on the subject of fuel and additives etc, does anyone use anything in their fuel?
I sometimes put some marvel's mystery oil in my tank, and i find i get a noticeable increase in MPG, no power increases though.. with 87oct and 4-6 oz of this stuff, i see.... an avg of 20-40 miles more per quarter tank.
