Code 35
Open in left front or right rear wheel speed sensor circuit. Check speed sensor, sensor rotor, wiring harness and connector. got code 35 after bridging on a 97 celica st205 if it makes a difference. by the way thanks to all 6gc members you's have sorted out a fair few things for me. Back to the situation got the above got now night time over her so not able to check this just means there is a space between either sensor or not connected properly at connection point please correct me if im wrong. Well, Im looking at my book, and there is no code 35 for that (31 - 34 though, one code per speed sensor circuit). First thing to check for is to see if the sensor came loose. If they are still clipped in, then do some resistance checks. Resistance for the front on terminals 1/2 should be 1-2.6Kohms, and resistance of terminals 1/2 of speed sensor connector to ground should be 1Mohm or higher. For the rear the numbers are .8-2.1Kohm, and 1Mohm or higher. If you obviously get infinity, then you know where your problem lies.
If everything checks out, then you could check for the open between your ecu and speed sensor. Third thing you can do is check the speed sensor rotor its self, look for missing teeth/scratches, and that the installation bolt is secured. All in all, its probably a loose/corroded connection. Im not too sure what the code would be, but it might be a fuse as well (blown fuse would cause and open condition) Im sure that you might know, but an open in a circuit is pretty much what it sounds like. A point in a circuit that does not allow current to flow. Kind of like a light switch, switch off, disrupts the current, switch on, completes the circuit and allows current to go. I got the code by bridging the terminals. Will go through that this week end. apart from a scanner cause can't find or don't know if i have an obd2 port |
