I have the 7afe and I always have this problem with the toyota's i've owned. When I check the oil, the dip stick will show more oil on one side than the other depending on which way I put it in. I feel stupid asking this question but I just don't know the answer. Which direction does the guage part of the oil dip stick go in, facing the front of the car or to the rear of the car.

The 7AFE calls for 4.2 quarts, while the 5SFE calls for 3.9 quarts. This is interesting, but it's right. I check on my work's computer, I work at Napa, and we have a program that tells fluid capacities for all cars.
