I'm getting a metal bracket custom-made for myself for the mid (4") speaker position.

It will be almost identical mechanically to the factory premium bracket, except it will be able to accomodate aftermarket speakers (as long as they are shallow enough - max depth 45mm).

If there is interest, I could potentially get a few extra made. Price is likely to be around $40 mark/pair. Note this is just the bracket and the price reflects the custom nature of the part (I will sell these at cost).

If you would have offered this earlier in the year, I'd have bought these without thinking twice....it was a pain making them myself. And for $40, it's definitely worth it compared to the frustration of making them fit exactly right without touching the door panel. Also, you can cut a hole in the inner door skin to accommodate 4" speakers that are deeper. (I had to do this with my 3-way JL components as they would otherwise touch the door panel.) GLWS!
