I just bought 94 Celica gt hatchback and it has no heat being that its December this is a bit of a concern! I bought it from a friend and so far we have burped the coolant and tomorrow we will be changing the thermostat but if that doesnt work are there any suggestions?

you might have a clogged heater core like griff said. But why would both the inlet hose and return hose be hot? If its clogged coolant will go to the heater core, but can't return. Check to see if the valve is open, and that when you turn the heat on inside the car, its actually set on heat. The 4th gen celicas run into this issue.
