Ok so here's the dilemma. As you may have seen from my other post, my car needs tires pretty badly. If I order my tires from tirerack or discounttiredirect I will end up spending between $350 and $400 for decent tires + mounting/balancing.
Today I found some 7gc GTS wheels and tires for $200. The ad says they are painted satin black and "2 tires are good and 2 are about half worn." I e-mailed asking about the brand of the tire, etc. Which do you think is worth it? My wife doesn't seem to think that used tires/wheels are they way to go, but I think it's a good way to get some sweet 7gc wheels that I've been wanting AND some half decent tires for the winter. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

Honestly, I bought my wheels because I wanted the wheels, and happened to run into pretty much the same situation. My rears are pretty much ripe for replacement, while my fronts have 40-50% tread left. I say go for it (it's 100 cheaper than what I paid) and just run the tires for a while, just take it easy.
