Hi.

I can get one of these at a reasonable price. Does anyone already have this kit installed? Worth doing?

Cheers

The TRD isn't a short shifter, it's a "quick" shifter. It shortens throw distance a bit, angles toward the steering wheel, and is about same as stock length (with the TRD knob it's longer). The whole idea is it's a shorter actual throw, and it is close to the steering wheel to keep both hands on the wheel for racing purposes. IMO a "short throw" is for lazy guys who drive with 1 hand on the wheel and rest the other on their console.

For the OP, I had a TRD quickshifter in my 94 GT and LOVED it. Shorter throw, close position to the wheel, etc, was definitely worth the $100 I bought mine for. To me the 7th gen and other short shifters make it look like your hand has to be way down in the console to shift.

OK, thanks to everyone for their posts, but this one in particular was very helpful. I'm going to go for it smile.gif
