Hi.
I can get one of these at a reasonable price. Does anyone already have this kit installed? Worth doing? Cheers TRD Shortshifter |

The TRD isn't a short shifter, it's a "quick" shifter. It shortens throw distance a bit, angles toward the steering wheel, and is about same as stock length (with the TRD knob it's longer). The whole idea is it's a shorter actual throw, and it is close to the steering wheel to keep both hands on the wheel for racing purposes. IMO a "short throw" is for lazy guys who drive with 1 hand on the wheel and rest the other on their console.
For the OP, I had a TRD quickshifter in my 94 GT and LOVED it. Shorter throw, close position to the wheel, etc, was definitely worth the $100 I bought mine for. To me the 7th gen and other short shifters make it look like your hand has to be way down in the console to shift. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

I'm going to go for it ![]() |
